Oman tour by jeeps
🛻 Oman Jeep Adventure
Two weeks of freedom, nature, and unforgettable experiences.
Our trip through Oman is designed as a true adventure. In two weeks, we cover most of the country, feel the pulse of the Arabian Peninsula, and connect closely with nature and locals. At the beginning, end, and somewhere in between, we stay in aparthotels; the rest of the time we camp – in the most beautiful places the country offers: hidden valleys, steep cliffs, oases, and desert dunes.
📍 Start in Muscat – preparing for the journey
After arriving in Muscat, we pick up our 4×4 jeeps – our second home during the trip. We stock up on food, buy any missing camping equipment, and set off on our first exploration. We visit the restored Nakhal Fort and refresh ourselves in a natural thermal pool. Then we continue to the coast, where an endless drive on sandy beaches and our first night camping under the stars awaits.
🌊 Wadis, canyons, and mountain passes
We discover the interior of the country – wadis and picturesque canyons. On the way to the Hajar Mountains, we experience serious off-road driving in Wadi Al Abyad. We explore the narrow and breathtaking Little Snake canyon and then embark on a spectacular off-road drive through Wadi Bani Awf. The views are incredible, and the road is adrenaline-packed. The day ends in the abandoned village of Al Hamra, followed by a walk through the oasis of Misfat, one of Oman’s most beautiful secrets.
⛰️ Jebel Shams – the balcony above the canyon
We climb Oman’s highest mountain – Jebel Shams (3,000 m), where we hike the famous “balcony walk.” Walking along the edge of a 900-meter-deep canyon is a feast for the eyes. For more adventurous travelers, there is an option for an extended tour. Afterwards, we visit the scenic Wadi Nakhal and the ancient tombs of Al Ayn. Those who want more walking can embark on a 4-hour hike in the hills. The day ends in Bahla, where we overnight in apartments.
🕌 Souks and views from Nizwa
The next day we stop in Nizwa, a city of souks, mosques, and charming shops. Here, there is a chance for Arabian shopping and restocking supplies. Then we drive along a mountain road with views of the valley and camp near Jebel Akhdar. We walk through ancient villages by the falaj, a traditional irrigation system.
🏜️ Hot sands of Wahiba Desert
Oman without the desert is not true Oman! On the way to the desert, we stop at the Wadi Bani Khalid oasis – a paradise with its green scenery and natural pools. We continue to the Wahiba Sands dunes. The first night is spent by the campfire, under an endless sky full of stars and shooting stars. Next follows a true desert adventure – driving from north to south Wahiba. Along the way, we stop for photos and pure enjoyment of the views. When we finally reach the Arabian Sea, a well-deserved sea break awaits.
🏖️ Coastal path – from dunes to flamingos
The last part of the trip takes place along Oman’s picturesque coast. We drive past white dunes, pink lakes (with some luck, we’ll see flamingos!), and hidden beaches among rocks. We meet fishermen and their daily lives. We visit Ras Al Jinz, known for sea turtle nesting (in season). We camp on the coast and fall asleep to the sound of waves. The last evening is spent in Ras Al Hadd, where we enjoy some fun and buy souvenirs.
🌴 Farewell in style – Wadi Shab and Muscat
For the finale, a real “chocolate” – Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most beautiful canyons. We explore the gorge on foot, swim in turquoise pools under waterfalls and in secret caves. In Muscat, we enjoy a farewell dinner and buy souvenirs at the market. After the last shower in the hotel, a transfer to the airport and a night flight home follow – full of experiences, sand, and beautiful memories.
🎒 Who is this trip for?
We recommend this trip to everyone who wants a free, adventurous, and active way to explore the world. Adventurers at heart, nature lovers, drivers, and those looking for something different.

Sights on the tour
Traveling to Oman offers the traveler a kind of beauty because, despite its desert landscape, it reveals a great variety to the visitor and offers many attractions.
Where we sleep?
Oman develops tourism in a more luxurious direction, but there are still enough cheap hotels. Fortunately, camping in the country is allowed and this is the most beautiful part of the Omani experience. Of course, this is also the cheapest way to travel around Oman, and we will stick with it. For starters, ends and somewhere in between, we sleep in aparthotels, and the rest is camped at the most beautiful spots the country has. We provide the tents, but you can use your own (optional).
