Description of Excursions in Slovenia

KRAS

Although the Karst region is characterized by three main elements: Teran wine, prosciutto, and the Bora wind, it offers much more. An extraordinary experience awaits you in a walk through the mysterious underground world of numerous Karst caves, as well as in its natural wonders and cultural heritage. Among the many sinkholes, abandoned ponds, and wind-bent trees, side field paths will lead you to villages with preserved stone houses and the local people, who have been shaping life in this part of the world since ancient times. Visiting the Karst is an experience in every season…

The most beautiful area is the upper region, where the clear daughter of the mountains reigns: the Soča River. The possibilities for entertainment, recreation, and relaxing excursions are limitless. Posočje is a region in northwestern Slovenia, encompassing the area around the Soča River. It is divided from north to south into Upper, Central, and Lower Posočje, with key locations including Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin, Most na Soči, and Kanal ob Soči.
