Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar tour
🦁 Tanzania Safari – The Wilderness in All Its Glory
Our Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar trip is designed to be adventurous, relaxed, and authentic. Arusha will be our first encounter with local life, but we won’t stay long – the very next day, we head out on safari to Serengeti National Park.
🌾 Serengeti – Kingdom of the Big Five
Serengeti National Park, covering more than 14,000 km², captivates with its endless savannah. Here we’ll observe wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and of course, the ever-present predators – lions, leopards, and cheetahs. If the timing is right, we’ll also witness the famous wildebeest migration, one of the greatest wildlife movements on Earth.
🛖 Visit to the Maasai and Ngorongoro – A Glimpse into Tradition and a Natural Wonder
Along the way, we’ll visit a traditional Maasai village – a proud pastoralist people with a rich culture and warrior spirit. In the evening, we arrive at the edge of the stunning Ngorongoro Crater and spend the night in a campsite. The next day, we descend into the crater by 4×4 vehicles – this natural amphitheater is often called the eighth natural wonder of the world. We’ll encounter buffalo, black rhinos, lions, hyenas, flamingos, hippos, and many more.
🌅 Lake Eyasi – Evening by the Fire and Tribal Encounters
In the afternoon, we move on to the scenic Lake Eyasi, where we enjoy a beautiful sunset and dinner around the campfire. The area is home to over ten tribes, including the Datoga and the fascinating Hadzabe – one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in the world.
🐍 Safari Wrap-up in Arusha
Our final safari day is spent in Arusha – perfect for souvenir shopping at a local market or a visit to the intriguing Meserani Snake and Reptile Park.
✈️ Zanzibar – Island Paradise After the Safari
We then take a short flight to exotic Zanzibar. We spend our first night in the magical Stone Town, enchanted by its architecture, the fusion of Arab, Indian, and African cultures, and its rich spice trade history. We’ll visit Freddie Mercury’s house, the local market, and enjoy a delightful coastal dinner.
🐢 Spices, Turtles, and Islands
Optional activities include visiting Prison Island to see giant tortoises, and a spice tour where we learn about the cultivation and use of Zanzibar’s famous spices.
🌴 Nungwi and Kendwa – A Beach Paradise with Soul
The final days are spent in the northeast of the island, in vibrant Nungwi. We’ll visit Nungwi Beach, enjoy the local vibe, and take a walk to nearby Kendwa Beach – one of the few beaches unaffected by tidal changes. In the evenings, we’ll soak in spectacular sunsets, play beach games with locals, and enjoy true island life.

Accommodation on our Safari and Zanzibar tour

Why with us to Tanzania and Zanzibar?
Our Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar tour is truly superb. We go on the best safari in Africa. We are working together with a local agency that has over 30 years of experience in organizing safari tours in Tanzania. Everyone (guides, drivers, cooks) contributes to the best safari experience, as well as the experience of Africa itself. For a low price, you get the most (a good camp with set-up tents, excellent food – full board, local guides with extensive knowledge…). In Zanzibar, we relax, chill out on the beach, watch sunsets, ride bicycles from beach to beach… In short, our Tanzania tour offers something for everyone.
About Tanzania and Zanzibar
Tanzania is a coastal country in East Africa. It was formed by the union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar in 1964. The northeast is mountainous and densely forested, with Mount Kilimanjaro being the highest point on the African continent – 5,895 meters above sea level. Three of Africa’s great lakes are at least partially located in Tanzania: Lake Victoria, which is the largest African lake; Lake Tanganyika, which is the deepest lake on the continent, also known for its unique fish species; and In Lake Nyasa, the third largest and second deepest lake in Africa. Central Tanzania is a large plateau with plains and fertile soil. The eastern coast is hot and humid. In addition to the highest point of Africa, Tanzania also has the lowest point: the bottom of Lake Tanganyika, which is 352 meters below sea level.

Visa and Vaccinations
Visas can be arranged at the airport. Payment is made in cash, in US dollars (50$). Your passport must be valid for at least six months more when entering the country.

Important is the prevention – stronger mosquito repellents (DEET between 30% and 50%, or more than 20% Picaridin), long clothing and closed footwear. Malaria tablets (antimalarials) are not mandatory and may have side effects, so it is essential to consult your doctor before using them.
Yellow Fever: Vaccination is only mandatory for travelers coming to Tanzania from endemic areas (which does not include Europe).
Other vaccinations are not mandatory.
You can read about the necessary vaccinations for visiting Tanzania here: www.zdravinapot.si

In hrana. So naju strašili, da bova lačna, ker hrana ni najboljša. Pa so skoraj vse žitne ploščice prišle nazaj z nama v Slovenijo. Dobre kuharje smo imeli.
Brez pripomb.
- Koliko denarja si približno dodatno porabil/-a v Tanzaniji? Za celo potovanje ( agencija, testiranja, viza, osebna poraba) sva na osebo porabila cca 2.750 EUR. Res je, da nisva kupovala slik in lesenih izdelkov, a sva šla na vse izlete, si privoščila kako pivo, koktejle, odlične ribe, kupila začimbe, majhne spominke.

Zdravo,
Lep pozdrav,
Marta
